travelling is the kintsugi of life

Blessed are the curious for they will have adventures – Lovelle Drachman

about me

I have never been afraid to go anywhere, I guess I took the bible verse ‘everywhere your foot touch is your’ too literal. But I have always had the desire to explore the world after my first international flight when I was 10. My love for travelling was rekindled after seeing an Instagram post and not believing such a place could exist on earth; It was much better than the image of heaven I had in my mind. At that moment I knew I had to go see it for myself.

After travelling to over 50+ countries I must admit, travelling has turn me into a storyteller. This space provides the avenue for me to share the stories of people I have meet on the road and how those interactions have moulded me into the woman I am today.

Travelling is the Kintsugi of life

I came across the concept of kintsugi about a year ago while inter-webbing (randomly searching the internet), meaning ‘golden joinery’, it is the Japanese art of fixing poetry mostly with powdered gold.

I remember telling my brother that I have just visited Turkey and his response was ‘wooooow that’s a hot country you went to’, and may I clarify that he was not talking about the weather but instead about safety. But where is truly safe? ….
